Haywood Drive, Halesowen Bathroom
This particular bathroom refurb was a little more tricky than your usual, due to it being on a ground floor and therefore solid concrete floors.
The existing bathroom suite had been removed due to a leak that had caused damage to the floors etc. Insurance sent someone in to remove old flooring and suite to allow it to dry out sufficiently, before a new bathroom suite was put back in.
A couple of days were spent just on the prep of this, 1st fix pipework put into walls where possible (stud) and isolated in other areas to allow the floor to be self leveled (this made tiling the floor an absolute dream). Self leveler used was MAPEI.
All floor and walls tiled before fitting out. The shower enclosure went in first, to ensure this could be used if needed. The customer was on holiday during this refurb, however if the customer had come back before completion, the shower would be back in action for them.
The bath, basin and toilet were then also fitted bringing chrome pipework up to each. All pipework that had to be run surface around the room was boxed in and tiled.
All new waste pipes were installed in solvent weld, right to outside. The condense from the boiler also had to be redrilled outside in 32mm, as the existing went into the bath waste internally.
