A stunning bathroom completed in January 2020 (we were kept supplied with plent of tea!), using both tile and Bushboard, Nuance shower panels to bring the room together.
Replacing the bath for a large walk in shower and screen. Previous to this bathroom refurb, we also converted the old open vent, tank fed system to a combination boiler, allowing the customer to have the option for a lovely, new & powerful shower piped straight off the mains.
The existing airing cupboard, which housed the cylinder, was removed to make the bathroom larger. Unfortunately due to solid floors, the soil pipe had to be ran above ground and boxed in. The shower waste, however, only being 40mm we were able to chase this into the floor and into the soil stack that luckily for us was easily accessible under the suspended lounge floor next door.
The ceiling was lowered slightly, overboarded and plastered to meet the shower panels - any remaining gap was taken up by coving. This allowed our customer to keep as much of the ceiling height as possible. The panels being 2420mm high and the existing ceiling height over 2500mm.
An existing external window (now internal and blocked up) was kept as a shelf within the shower and boarded around and within.
The floor was self levelled using Mapei self levelling compound, taking up any discrepencies before tiling.
Other than the obvious, the photos speak for themselves!
